What is the difference between Blues and Cool Jazz?
What is the difference between Blues and Cool Jazz?|||There is a larger difference between Blues and Cool Jazz then there is between Blues and some other forms of Jazz. All Jazz is derived from the blues, but Blues (in spite of all the clamor about guitar and harmonica heroes) is primarily a vocal art. Jazz is much more instrumentally oriented. Cool Jazz takes it even further from blues by eschewing the emotional component of Blues (and much other Jazz), hence the term "Cool" Jazz.|||Simply put: 'cool' jazz is instrumental. Blues sings the story.
