How do you play smooth jazz on alto saxophone?

I recently purchased a yamaha mouth piece told it would help with playing smooth jazz.|||its never the instrument-its always the player!|||this isnt what i was asking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!鈥?

|||pianojazzman answered you perfectly. YOU play smooth jazz. The saxophone is just a piece of equipment making sound possible. You play smooth jazz on any instrument by being as smooth as possible. Study the style rather than the instrument.
