I'm writing a jazz guitar song in the key of Cmajor. So far I have the chords Cmajor7 and Fmin2. What are some other chords that go well with these?|||Try Cmajor7, E7, A7, Dm,E7, Am6, D9, G7, C - That's a chord progression from the song 'All of Me'. Just to get an idea of how some other people have used C.
Here's another good one:
| C/// | C/// | C/// | F7/// |
| C/// | C/ A7/ | Dm/// | Dm/// |
| Dm/// | Dm/// | Dm/// | G7/// |
| Dm/// | G7/// | C/// | C/// |
| Gm/// | C7/// | F/// | Fm/// |
| C/// | C/ A7/ | Dm/// | G7/// | C/// | C/// :||
That's another tune called 'J'attendrais.'
Or Use- Cmaj7-Dm6-G7. And play around with it.
But you can really just translate any song into any key. So listen to some jazz and take away the parts and progressions that you like, grab the chords or the tab, and translate it. I recommend Django Reinhardt. Also, try using a few passing chords to give the progression a chromatic feel.|||If it sounds good the chord goes well. If it sounds bad, the chord goes badly. It is all in the progression of the chords, not the chords themselves.|||try ths:
Cmaj7/ Dm7/Em7/Ebmaj7/Abmaj7/Dbmaj7/Cmaj7
and this:
Cmaj7/Bm7/Bb7/Am7/Ab7/G7sus4/G7/Em7 Fam7/Abmaj7/Dbma7/Cmaj7
and this:
Cmaj7 Bbmaj7/Abmaj7 G7sus4/Em7/Ebmaj7/Dbmaj7/Cmaj7/Amaj7
