What are some advanced practice methods for jazz guitar? How can I boost my confidence?

I've just begun my first semester of studying jazz guitar in college, but my practice schedule is now random and my self-esteem as a player (and thus, as a person simultaneously) is waning. What are some intellectual exercises that can help expand my melodic vocabulary and give more focus to my approach?

I honestly can't thank anyone enough who'll set me straight.|||Practice your jazz scale. The, "jazz scale," is a very useful scale for blues, and soloing. If you can get this down, your creativity gets a jump start. Can't really explain it in detail, look up some videos on youtube or something.|||GO TO...WWW.911TABS.COM
