Utah has a population of about 50% Mormon faith. The Jazz owner is Mormon (Larry H, Miller) and the Mormon world wide headquarters is about 4 blocks from the Jazz energy solutions arena. The government is mostly run by Mormon members (not mormon leaders)
Personally I am biased.|||I'm a Jazz fan, chris h, but I just don't see this. You could argue that it's in the NBA's interest to get a team in the Finals that will draw better TV ratings, but it would be a huge scandal if it were ever discovered that the refs had explicitly determined to favor the Lakers. I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist, so I don't think that's happening. I certainly don't think it has anything to do with Mormonism.
I actually thought the game Wednesday night was well officiated, until about the last four minutes and then I have no idea what they were thinking. The fans complained about a lot of no calls, but the refs were very consistent in that game at not calling fouls when players flopped, and some Jazz players didn't adjust to the way the game was being called.|||I don't think so. I haven't seen any evidence that the NBA is in fact biased against the Jazz. Additionally, there are other Mormon players. Coaches, and team presidents in the NBA. Dave Checkets and Danny Ainge, for example.
Lastly, most people have no problem with Mormons.
So, no...I don't think so.|||youre an idiot...if nba was against utah, how come the jazz gets all the calls at home!! would nt lebron be in NY and would chris paul be in N.O.? the NBA is not against small market teams. I dont get it. how come utah fan doesnt complain about NBA when they play at home?|||I think that there is a possibility. I think if people in high places have the opportunity to screw over people that don't believe what they believe, they will.|||Well isn't that great for Utah! I don't think it matters in the least to the NBA. Excuses are the refuge of the disgruntled fan.|||i guess so|||Why would they want another championship series anywhere where you can't drink and party?|||Perhaps, especially after the polygamist stings last month in Texas|||Biased in what sense?|||nah this doesnt have anything to do with basketball.|||No, I think the NBA is biased for Kobe Bryant...they want him in the Finals and will do whatever it takes...|||Doubt it ........not impossible.......but I doubt it.|||no i dont think so, why are mormons bad or something?(someone tell me)are they like super religious?|||why? its just a religeion|||well good 4 u man
