Charging a Jazz camcorder without the charger that came with it?

I lost my charger for my Jazz camcorder and I was wondering, since it's a mini USB connection, if I could use a charger for a cell phone that's the same kind of connection to charge it? Does that make sense? My brain isn't working too well right now lol.|||USB connections all work to the same specs - it will work and it will take the same time.|||Should be ok but will take much longer then a dedicayed charger
